Three Chests for My Three Kids
I am a huge proponent of privacy. When I was growing up, my mom would always look through my things, which did not sit well with me. I had nothing to hide, but I felt it was a huge invasion of privacy, especially since I never gave her any reason to not trust me. I vowed to not be that way with my children. When each one got old enough, I picked out a trunk for them. I looked at the 10 best storage trunks with lock abilities, and I found three on that top ten list that I knew each of my kids would really like.
For my daughter, the oldest of my three kids, I picked out a pink chest that is rectangular. There is nothing special about it, but I knew she would really like it because it looked girly. For my middle child, the older of my two boys, I picked out one that looked like something a military man would use. Even though he was only 12 years old, I knew he would appreciate it because of the tactile look of it. He has several uncles who are in the military, and this would make him think of them even more.
For my youngest child, my pirate wannabe, I chose a chest that looks like a treasure chest. I knew he would enjoy it because it looks like something that came from one of his pirate movies. All three of the chests were extremely affordable, and each one is geared towards what each child likes. The best part is that each comes with a solid lock, so they can feel secure in hiding their deepest thoughts and treasures away, such as diaries, pictures and anything else like that. I trust all three of them, and this lets them know that.
